Privacy policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Zambia Transparent Earth respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it and the choices available to you when you use the website or contact us.
Data we may collect
Depending on how you use Zambia Transparent Earth, we may process account and contact details, authentication and security records, technical information such as IP address, browser and device data, and messages or submissions you send to us. Public map and license searches are not intended to require an account.
How we use data
We use personal data to provide and secure the service, respond to inquiries, maintain records, prevent abuse, improve reliability and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal data. We may use service providers that process data only to support these purposes and under appropriate safeguards.
Retention and international transfers
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, legal requirements, dispute resolution and security. Zambia Transparent Earth and its service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use legally recognized transfer safeguards.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent and complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise a right, email info@transparentearth.tech.
Cookies and changes
Zambia Transparent Earth may use essential storage and similar technologies for language, theme, authentication and security. We will update this policy when our practices or legal obligations materially change.
Optional public-page analytics
When enabled on this website, Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you accept optional analytics. It measures visits to the Map, Projects, Insights, About, Disclaimer and Privacy pages. We send canonical public-page addresses and fixed page titles, without URL queries, fragments, search terms, form contents, email addresses or account identifiers. Account, administration, CRM and authentication pages are not tracked. Advertising consent is denied, and Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled.
With your consent, we also measure public interactions such as search usage and result counts, filters, license and project selection, map controls, favorites, detail tabs, service and contact actions, geometry download requests and article links. Events may include public record identifiers and predefined categories, but never your search text or the contents of an inquiry. An accepted inquiry is counted only after the server confirms acceptance; a download request does not confirm that you saved or opened the file.
If you accept, Google may process technical information such as your IP address and browser or device information, and use analytics cookies to recognize visits. Google may process this information outside your country. Your accept or reject choice is saved in local browser storage when available; otherwise it lasts for the current tab. You can change your choice using Analytics settings in the footer of a public page. Withdrawing consent disables further collection and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies; it does not erase information already sent to Google. Rejecting analytics does not affect access to the website.
